LYNDA MARROKAL

Being a resident of Santee for 61 years, I have a long time history with our community.  As a parent, landowner, and business owner I have insight into what the people of Santee need. I was elected to the Santee Redevelopment Project Area Committee (a.k.a. PAC) from 2002 to 2005 this experience gave me a wealth of knowledge as to how the city council works and how important the voice of the people from Santee is in the process of running the city. Being a long-time resident, I know how important the city council is to our community.  My family came to Santee in 1946, my father served in the Navy and built a home on Mission Gorge road where I had the privilege to grow up. In 1994 eminent domain took our family home, so I am uniquely empathetic to the concerns of the residents of Santee as expansion and growth continue. Following in my mother Mildred’s footsteps, who was heavily involved with the incorporation project that placed Santee on the map, she instilled in me the importance of serving my community. My mother would be so proud of my endorsement by the Democratic party for the City Council seat in District 3. It would be an honor to continue my families contribution as a council member serving our beautiful city of Santee.
